A Plea for My Friend: Save Her Sight, End Her Pain
I am writing this with a heart full of worry and a desperate hope for my dearest friend. Her world, once filled with the simple joys of caring for her two young children, has been shattered by unimaginable pain and a race against time to save her vision.
It began subtly—a small scratch in her eye. We thought little of it, but soon, pus began to appear. Hoping it was a minor infection, we tried to manage it at home, unaware of the silent danger growing behind her eyelids.
When the pain persisted for weeks, we rushed to the hospital. We placed our trust in a prescription for eye drops and pain relievers, praying for healing. Instead, her condition worsened. The pain became a constant, searing agony. The discharge continued, and sleepless nights became her new normal. We watched helplessly as she struggled through each day with no relief in sight.
Driven by fear and desperation, we sought a second opinion at Lavender Eye Clinic. There, we received the devastating news that forever changed our lives:
The previous eye drops had caused a severe reaction, melting the sclera—the white tissue—holding her pupil in place.
Our world stopped. The very treatment meant to heal her had caused catastrophic damage.
Now, she faces a complex and urgent surgery—her only chance at a life free from constant pain. Surgeons must remove the destroyed sclera and pupil and replace them with an artificial eye.
But the nightmare doesn't end there. Because the eyes are connected, her second eye has also begun to show signs of damage. To read and care for her children, she now requires a special protective contact lens. The pain is so severe at times that it triggers terrifying facial seizures, leaving her—and all of us who love her—feeling utterly helpless.
Her two children need their mother. They need her smile, her comfort, and her care. She cannot be that mother for them while trapped in this cycle of pain and deteriorating sight.
We are humbly pleading for your help to fund her journey back to life.
The financial burden is immense and one we cannot bear alone:
Major Eye Surgery: ₦600,000
Essential Medications: ₦65,000
Protective Contact Lens for her remaining eye: ₦180,000
Total Goal: ₦845,000
This surgery is more than a procedure; it is her only chance to see her children's faces clearly again, to live without relentless pain, and to rebuild the life that has been taken from her.
Please, any contribution you can make will bring her one step closer to healing. No amount is too small to make a difference. If you cannot give, we understand completely, but please share this story with everyone you know.
Your generosity can lift the darkness and give her the second chance she so desperately deserves.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support.
